RUBY, EMERALD AND DIAMOND PENDANT-NECKLACE, VAN CLEEF & ARPELS
Supporting a detachable pendant-brooch featuring two carved emeralds, framed by ruby beads, the rubies topped by gold star motifs, highlighted with round, old European and single-cut diamonds, suspended from a similarly-set necklace, length 16 inches, detachable for wear as bracelets, pendant and necklace each signed Van Cleef & Arpels NY, numbered 29430; circa 1965.
In good condition, with light wear and patination to the mounting, commensurate with age. Mounting tests as 18 karat gold. Please note that a small diamond-set rondelle is missing on one side of a ruby bead. The semi-translucent to opaque rubies are medium to medium deep strongly purplish red color, heavily included, with many cavities and surface reaching inclusions throughout. The translucent carved emeralds are medium light to medium green color, moderately to heavily included. The diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 15.80 carats are approximately G-H color, VS clarity. Total gross weight approximately 105 dwts. Pendant dimensions approximately 2½ x 1¾ inches. Necklace detachable into two 8-inch sections for wear as bracelets.
