PAIR OF GOLD AND EMERALD 'PANTHÈRE' PENDANT-EARCLIPS, CARTIER, FRANCE
The tops designed as panther heads set with pear-shaped emerald eyes and onyx cabochon noses, supporting detachable rings suspending interlocking hoops composed of white, yellow and rose gold, total gross weight approximately 36 dwts, signed Cartier, numbered 622893 A, with French assay and workshop marks. Fitted with posts.
In good condition with minor scratching and abrasions to the mountings, commensurate with wear. With some minor discoloration to the interior of the interlocking hoops and the interior of the panthers ears, noticeable only under close inspection. Each stamped 750 for 18 karat yellow, pink and white gold. The emeralds are medium to medium deep, very slightly bluish green, moderately included. The onyx cabochons are in good condition, one with a small chip to the top right corner, noticeable only under close inspection. To detach the pedants from the tops, pull the earring back open (as you would when putting on the earclips), and then lift the earclip up, which will open the panther's mouth, to release the ring. Total length measuring approximately 2¼ inches, the length of the tops measuring ⅞ inch. The tops fitted with posts for wear on pierced ears.
