BLACK OPAL AND DIAMOND RING
Centering an oval-shaped black opal cabochon measuring approximately 18.9 x 13.7 mm, set between two pear-shaped diamonds weighing 1.02 and 1.01 carats, further accented by round diamonds, size 5½.
Accompanied by two GIA reports:
No. 2176882221 dated November 23, 2016 stating that the diamond weighing 1.02 carats is D color, VVS2 clarity.
No. 2176373170 dated November 23, 2016 stating that the diamond weighing 1.01 carats is D color, VS1 clarity.
In good condition, the mounting with signs of very light wear including faint surface scratches, noticeable only upon close inspection. Mounting tests as platinum. The black opal displays very strong play-of-color, with primary hues of red-orange, yellow and green, and secondary hues of blue, purple and violet; with a few surface scratches noticeable only under 10x magnification, and eye-visible scratches to the reverse, otherwise in good condition. Opal depth approximately 4.6 mm. The round diamonds, estimated to weigh a total of approximately 0.25 carat, are approximately G-H color, VS clarity. Accompanied by two GIA reports: No. 2176882221 dated November 23, 2016 stating that the diamond weighing 1.02 carats is D color, VVS2 clarity. No. 2176373170 dated November 23, 2016 stating that the diamond weighing 1.01 carats is D color, VS1 clarity. Please note that the exact ring size cannot be obtained due to the presence of inner sizers; ring fits like a 5½ with the sizers.
