JOHN HOYLAND, R.A.
signed, titled, dated 15.8.89 and inscribed on the reverse
acrylic on canvas
152.5 by 127cm.; 60 by 50¼in.
The canvas appears original. There is a possible historic minor loss to an impasto tip in the red swirl towards the lower left corner. There are one or two very faint scuffs towards the lower edge, only visible upon close inspection. There are air bubbles to the paint in keeping with the Artist's working methods and material. There is light surface dirt to the work in places and one or two very minor instances of studio detritus and surface matter. This excepting, the work appears to be in excellent overall condition.
Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching.
The work is floated in a stained wooden box frame.
