COMPOSITION - BLACK & OCHRE WITH BLUE
signed and dated 58
oil on canvas
91 by 100.5cm.; 36 by 39½in.
The canvas is original. The canvas undulates slightly throughout. There is some frame abrasion to all four edges, with some tiny associated flecks of loss in places. There are some incredibly fine lines of craquelure, predominantly at the edges, and in one or two places elsewhere, only visible upon extremely close inspection. There are possibly some very minor flecks of loss in places. There is some minor reticulation to the blue pigment in the centre of the composition. There is light surface dirt and studio matter throughout. This excepting, the work appears in very good overall condition.
Inspection under ultra violet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching.
The work is held in a painted wooden frame behind glass.
