The hidden centre shutter clasps decorated with calibré-cut rubies, opening to reveal a square dial, accented with single- and brilliant-cut diamonds, to the brick-link strap, mechanical movement, length approximately 150mm, signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered, circa 1940.

Signed VAN CLEEF & ARPELS N.Y., numbered 6430, inscribed S.J. ANATHAN PITTSBURGH. Metal tested as yellow gold. Rubies are of medium slightly purplish-red to red colour, of strong saturation. Diamonds are bright and lively. Signs of normal wear to metal consistent with age, some surface scratches. Overall in very good condition.
