VUE DE MIRMANDE
Signed A. Lhote. (lower left)
Peinture à la colle, gouache, watercolor and colored crayon on paper
11¼ by 18 in. (28.6 by 45.7 cm)
Framed: 17 by 23⅞ in. (43.2 by 60.6 cm)
Executed in Mirmande circa 1940.
This work will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné being prepared by Dominique Bermann Martin.
Acquired in Paris circa 1970
The work is executed on cream wove paper which has been hinged to a window matte along the top edge of its verso. There is a one-inch tear in the purple gouache toward the lower right corner. There are remnants of adhesive in the lower left and lower right corners, likely from a previous mounting. There are a few scattered nailsized stains in the hills at upper center a, possibly inherent to the medium. There is a one-inch long repaired tear to the center right edge. The work is in overall good condition.
