Patek Philippe manufactured the reference 2508 in two different series, each bearing a different dial design. The present lot belongs to the first series, characterized by its applied drop and square indexes.
Production of Ref. 2508 began in 1951 and ceased around 1960. Like the reference 565, which also featured a large case and screw-down case back, the reference 2508 was known as the "Grande Calatrava Etanche".
