Accessories: Longines Extract from the Archives confirming the present lot with caliber 13ZN was invoiced on November 27, 1945 to the company Wirth, Longines' agent for Switzerland
Longines introduced the caliber 13ZN in 1936, and the movement is amongst the most sought after chronograph movements of all time. The present lot is a rare configuration of the caliber, with the center arbor not only carrying the chronograph seconds hand, but also a red minute counter. The subsidiary dial at 3, normally reserved for the minute-counter, reads the elapsed hours. It is believed that only a few hundred of these were produced in several references through the 1940s.
