QING DYNASTY, 18TH/19TH CENTURY
with the head of a praying mantis forming the hook and a cicada on the shaft; together with a white jade snuff bottle carved as a recumbent Buddhist lion, with a jadeite frog-form stopper, late Qing dynasty/Republican period
Length 5.9 and 5.1 cm, 2⅜ and 2 in.
Both jades are in good condition. It should be noted that both are of a slightly lighter tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
