A LARGE PALE CELADON JADE BELT BUCKLE
QING DYNASTY, 18TH/19TH CENTURY
the translucent stone carved with a dragon head hook and facing an openwork chilong on the shaft, the underside with a flat circular knob; together with a celadon jade conjoined seal surmounted with a sinuous chilong, the seal faces reading jing tang ju shi and possibly tao jie
Length 12.6 and 5.2 cm, 5 and 2 in.
The belt-hook is in very good condition; the seal has a bruise to the edge of the seal face and it should be noted is of a lighter tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
