A LARGE PAIR OF SANCAI-GLAZED ROOF TILE EQUESTRIAN FIGURES
MING DYNASTY, 16TH CENTURY
明十六世紀 三彩天王像瓦當一對
each modelled with a warrior wearing chain-mail armour over flowing robes, the face with lively expression and surmounted by an elaborate crown, seated upon a horse standing foursquare on an arched roof tile, all colourfully applied with straw, green and amber-coloured glazes
