A BLUE-SPLASHED JAR AND COVER
of slightly compressed ovoid form, covered to exterior with a thin layer of creamy-white slip suffused with cobalt blue glazes stopping just above the short splayed foot revealing the buff body, the similarly decorated domed cover surmounted with a floral bud finial
Height 15.3 cm, 6 in.
The cover is broken into circa four pieces and restored, and there is a 5cm., wide section of restoration to the rim. The jar has some expected wear and nicks to the surface, crackles and flakes to the glaze, with over-painting to some flakes in an area of approximately 4 x 5cm., and scattered small chips to the foot.
