The circular gold compact applied with red and black enamel, topped with carved jade and rose-cut diamonds, opening to reveal a mirror and powder compartment, fitted with pendant bail, together with a matching lipstick holder fitted with a baton-link chain; circa 1930.

Condition Report

In good overall condition. The interior of the compact numbered 5. Compact tests as 14 karat gold. The red enamel on the compact in good condition, with a few minor scratches and nicks. The black enamel with areas of damage and one large loss. The carved jade in good condition. The rose-cut diamonds are of decorative quality. The interior mirror intact but with age spots. The gold interior with heavy scuffing. Compact dimensions approximately 2 x 2 x ½ inch.

The lipstick holder inscribed 14K. The red enamel with extensive scratches. The black enamel on one of the 4 baton links with significant loss. Lipstick holder fitted with slider which is in working order. To open lipstick holder, simply pull top away from base. Baton chain on lipstick holder attaches to compact. The lipstick holder dimensions approximately 1½ x ⅝ x ⅝ inch. Total gross weight of compact and lipstick holder approximately 55 dwts.
