Designed as a bird composed of textured gold, a wing pavé-set with round and single-cut diamonds, the head topped with a ruby cabochon, the tail feathers accented with cabochon sapphires, and with a marquise-shaped emerald eye, signed Cartier Inc., France, numbered 2996, with French export and maker's marks.

Condition Report

In very good condition, with minor surface scratches to the mounting commensurate with wear. French export marks for gold and stamped 18 Kts. The ruby cabochon, estimated to weigh approximately 1.35 carats, is medium slightly purplish red, heavily included with surface reaching inclusions. The emerald is medium bluish green with a chip visible under 10x magnification. The sapphires are medium blue, eye-clean. The diamonds weighing a total of approximately 0.50 carat, are approximately E-G color, VS clarity. Gross weight approximately 10 dwts. Dimensions approximately 1½ x 1¼ inch.
