CULTURED PEARL, SHELL AND DIAMOND 'NAUTILUS' NECKLACE, SEAMAN SCHEPPS
Composed of two strands of white cultured pearls measuring from approximately 11.5 to 7.8 mm, and a strand of black cultured pearls measuring from approximately 14.0 x 6.4 mm, completed by a clasp set with a nautilus shell accented by round diamonds, internal circumference 18¾ inches, signed Seaman Schepps.

In good condition, the clasp mounting with signs of wear including light scratches, indentations and small areas of discoloration, and the string slightly loose and frayed in some areas and may benefit from restringing by a jeweler. Clasp mounting tests as 14 karat gold. The round and off-round cultured pearls are of silvery white to cream body color with soft to strong pink overtones and a few with soft aubergine overtones, and very dark gray to black body color with soft to strong peacock overtones, with fair to very good luster, and moderate to heavy blemishing including pitting, uneven and wrinkled skins, a few with cracks and peeling skins, and one with an exposed bead, not immediately noticeable when worn. The shell is ivory to dark gray body color, with strong iridescence, and a few small pits noticeable only upon close inspection, otherwise in good condition. The diamonds, estimated to weigh a total of approximately 1.15 carats, are of decorative quality. Clasp closes securely.
