8vo (4 7/8 x 7 3/8 in.; 125 x 190 mm). Half-title, publisher's advertisements at end; one or two stray spots. Original gray cloth covered boards, upper cover and spine pictorially stamped in black with design by T. Sturge Moore, inscribed by Yeats on the front free endpaper; very minor rubbing to upper corners and head of spine, spine sunned. In custom blue and cream linen covered clamshell case. 


First American edition, published simultaneously with the first British edition, inscribed by Yeats "From W.B. Yeats, April 1919"


The present edition incorporates 13 poems not present in the 1917 Cuala Press edition (see lot 85), including “In Memory of Major Robert Gregory,” and “An Irish Airman Foresees His Death.”
