Condition Report

Lined. The surface presents well with bright colors. The work has a heavy varnish, and appears streaky in a few areas. There are some isolated minor surface scratches and scuffs and a very few tiny pin dot losses at the right upper edge. Under UV: uneven varnish fluoresces green; the work appears to have been selectively cleaned and varnish remains at upper right above the signature. The majority of the red cloak and cuff have been restored. There is a 1 inch circular area of dashed inpainting on the girl's hand, and there are additional isolated dashes of retouching on the fingers, book and in the background. Ready to hang in its current state.
