Condition Report

Lined. The surface presents well. Scattered, faint craquelure is visible on the figure and her clothing and also in the landscape. Very minor frame abrasion visible at lower left edge. Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly; parts of the work have been selectively cleaned, including the face. Brushy dashes of inpainting fluoresce on the figure's proper left temple and proper right jaw; and a few scattered dots of retouching are on her tunic, proper right arm and skirt. Two horizontal lines (approx. 4 inches long) of dashed inpainting fluoresce near the figure's ankle at lower right. In the lower background there are a few very isolated areas of dashed inpainting. In the upper background at upper left and upper right a few feathery areas of inpainting fluoresce and are visible to the naked eye; additional fine, small dots of inpainting fluoresce in the foliage in the upper half of the work. Ready to hang in its current state.
