Set of 32 ink drawings for Aunt Mavor's Nursery Tales for Good Little People, comprising:

each c. 135 by 115mm. (average), ink drawings, unsigned, on 16 sheets, occasional light soiling, pin holes not affecting images

Complete sets of drawings for 'Tom Thumb', 'The Dog's Dinner Party', 'Puss in Boots' and 'Butterfly's Ball, and Grasshopper's Feast' published in 1856. Aunt Mavor's Nursery Tales contained 13 stories each 8 pages long with an illustration per page. Crowquill's original ink drawings show minor differences from the hand-coloured wood-engraved versions. Crowquill's style in his ink drawings was to provide some significant detail which tends to be lost when engraved.
