“CYPRIOTE” CABINET VASE
engraved L.C.T. D1901/Louis C. Tiffany
3⅜ in. (8.6 cm) high
Overall in very good condition. As expected with the Cypriote technique, the exterior surfaces are wonderfully irregular and tactile showing some surface irregularities, open air bubbles and inclusions, all inherent in the making and decorative technique. The glass surfaces with some occasional extremely fine and minor surface scratches, consistent with age and gentle handling. The inner surface of the aperture with a some small toolmarks, inherent in production. The interior of the vase with some light surface soiling. A diminutive yet dynamic example of the Cypriote technique with vivid orange and gold coloration.
