COUNTER-BALANCE FLOOR LAMP
favrile glass, patinated bronze
shade engraved L.C.T Favrile
base impressed TIFFANY STUDIOS/NEW YORK/468
54 in. (137.2 cm) high
9¾ in. (24.8 cm) diameter of shade
Overall in very good condition. The shade with scattered minor air bubbles, particulate inclusions, and surface irregularities inherent in the making and not visually detractive. The shade with a pulled thread inclusion which emanates from the upper aperture and spirals to the lower border, inherent in the making and not visually detractive. The upper aperture of the shade with a small edge fleck, not visible when the shade is assembled, and with some traces of adhesive residue. The base is in very good condition with scattered minor surface scratches, abrasions and wear, consistent with age. The arm supporting the counterweight with an area of patina loss. The patina of the counterweight appears to have been enhanced with green paint at some point in the history of the piece. One foot is bent slightly upward causing the lamp to rock slightly, which could be easily adjusted. With an original socket.
