Overall in good condition. The wood surfaces have been sensitively and professionally refinished, and present with minor indentations, losses to finish, craquelure, and some minor scattered wormholes consistent with age and gentle use. The wood surfaces with some scuffing, mainly concentrated to the arms and feet of the chairs. One chair with minor area of wood loss measuring approximately 1 inch long, only visible upon close inspection. Some areas of finish residue and flecks of yellow paint, concentrated to the recesses of the chair detailing, only visible upon close inspection. The upholstery has been sensitively and professionally replaced, and the upholstered surfaces present with some occasional loose threads and very minor discoloration, consistent with age and gentle use. One chair presents with minor rocking, but is still stable. A gorgeous set of chairs that incorporate van der Velde's signature sweeping whiplash curves.
