LEON KOSSOFF | LANDSCAPE WITH CALM NO. 2
California Straight Ahead: Property from the Collection of Dr. David Sanders and Prof. Jesse Dukeminier
1926 - 2019
LANDSCAPE WITH CALM NO. 2
charcoal and pastel on paper
Sheet: 22¼ by 29¾ in. (56.5 by 75.5 cm.)
Framed: 25⅛ by 33 in. (63.8 by 83.8 cm.)
Executed in 1999.
This work is in very good condition overall. The sheet is hinged along the edges of the reverse to the backing board. There is a slight undulation to the sheet, due to the artist's chosen media. The upper and lower edges are deckled. There is scattered studio splash and artist handling marks along the edges. There is a vertical crease to the sheet 1½ inches from the right edge, potentially inherent to the artist's chosen media. Framed under Plexiglas.
