ROBERT FRANK | TEARDROPS, NEW JERSEY DINER
TEARDROPS, NEW JERSEY DINER
inscribed 'for [. . .] from Robert' and dated '1970' in ink in the margin, mounted, partially overmatted, circa 1960, possibly printed in the 1960s (The Lines of My Hand, unpaginated; Pantheon, pl. 14)
9 by 13⅜ in. (22.9 by 34 cm.)
This print is in generally good condition. It is partially overmatted and mounted so that only part of the margin and none of the reverse could be examined. The following are visible upon close inspection: a sharp crease in the upper-middle portion which may break the emulsion; a circular deposit of indeterminate nature in the upper right quadrant and in the upper left quadrant; and a scuff in the upper right quadrant.
There are abrasions and adhesive remnants in the margins. Framer's notations and 'A-969' are written in an unidentified hand in ink in the margin.
The photographer's inscription and date in the margin have almost completely faded.
When examined under ultraviolet light, this photograph does not appear to fluoresce.
