'LONG BEACH, CALIF.' (COVERED CAR)
signed, titled, and dated in ink in the gray margin, inscribed 'for Gerald from Robert' in ink on the reverse, framed, 1956, possibly printed in the 1960s (The Americans, no. 34)
4⅝ by 6½ in. (11.7 by 16.5 cm.)
This photograph, printed full frame on double-weight paper with a surface sheen, is in generally very good condition. There are several hard creases in the lower right quadrant, some of which may break the emulsion. When examined closely, a linear scratch which does not appear to break the emulsion is visible in the upper left quadrant, as well as some very faint silvering in the dark areas of the print.
In the margins are a few creases, some adhesive remnants, and wear to the edges with occasional chipping. There are bands of stray exposure along 3 of the margin edges.
There is minor soiling and a few hinge remnants on the reverse. The print is hinged to a mat along the upper edge on the reverse.
When examined under ultraviolet light, this print does not appear to fluoresce.
