WOMAN OF THE HIGH PLAINS, TEXAS PANHANDLE
with '38258' in ink and the photographer's '1163 Euclid Avenue, Berkeley, California' stamp on the reverse, 1938, printed later
9½ by 7¾ in. (24.1 by 19.7 cm.)
This photograph is in generally very good to excellent condition. When examined in raking light, soft and sharp creases which do not appear to break the emulsion are visible, the most prominent of which is in the sitter's right arm. Near the edges there is a very faint line of graphite, likely transference from a mat.
The image is printed slightly askew, with uneven margins. The margin corners are bumped, and the lower margin edge is slightly rippled.
'LP' is written in an unidentified hand in pencil on the reverse.
When examined under ultraviolet light, the margins appear to fluoresce somewhat.
