Catalogue Note

The rounded crested head form with a distinctive cutaway section on the forehead, and the deeply recessed eyes, portrays a skeletal variety of the hacha type. For a similar example, see Leyenaar and Parsons, Ulama, Leiden, 1988, pp. 188 and 191, figs. 103 and 113.
