AMERICAN SCHOOL, 19TH CENTURY

ELLEN MARGARET KEYES

oil on canvas laid down on board

30 x 25 inches (76.2 x 63.5 cm)

Painted circa 1848

Condition Report

The canvas appears to have been laid down on board and the tacking edges further covered with pieces of Masonite board. There is surface cracking throughout and the work appears to be selectively varnished. There are frame abrasions along the extreme outer edges of the work which have been inpainted accordingly. Under UV light there appear to be a few very minor specks of inpait within the body of the work.
