FRANK EARLE SCHOONOVER | THE DEERSTALKER
60,000 - 80,000 USD
Property of a Private New York Collector
FRANK EARLE SCHOONOVER
1877 - 1972
signed F.E. Schoonover and dated '19 (lower right)
oil on canvas
39 ¼ by 30 inches
(99.7 by 76.2 cm)
The canvas is lined. There is some stable surface cracking concentrated in the white pigments to the right of the figure. Under UV: there is an area of inpainting in the center right sky that corresponds to a small, half inch loss. There are other smaller scattered lines and dots of inpainting, concentrated to the upper left and lower right quadrant in the landscape. Most of this retouching could be readdressed and more finely applied.
