The canvas has not been lined and is securely attached to a keyed wooden stretcher. The paint surface is even and in good condition. Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals scattered areas of cosmetic retouching in the sky and some other scattered fine lines and spots, including in the main figures in the foreground and in the barrels in the lower left corner. Overall, this picture is in good condition, presents very well and is ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame with a nameplate. Colours are somewhat less yellow in reality than in the printed catalogue.
