The Comité Lhermitte has confirmed the authenticity of this work, which will be included in the Supplement of the Catalogue Raisonné now in preparation by the Galerie Brame & Lorenceau and Monique Le Pelley-Fonteny. 

Condition Report

Pastel on paper that has been adhered to a canvas at the edges. Artist pinholes in all four corners. The work presents well, aside from minor surface dirt and dust. There is slight undulation to the sheet in a few areas.

Catalogue Note

Henri Büsser, to whom the present lot is dedicated, was a composer and conductor in Paris. He met Léon-Augustin Lhermitte in 1909 at a musical matinee that he conducted, which was held at the home of the painter Gaston La Touche.
