There is dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The marble has been heavily cleaned which has left an irreversible sheen to the surface. The dog’s proper right ear is reattached and there are old restorations around the edges. The marble has probably been outside as there are traces of lichen residue and possible weathering to the surface. There is dirt to the surface, particularly to the read edges. There are various small chips and abrasions. There is dirt particularly around the edges of the base and water staining.
