Overall the condition of the bronze is very good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are a few minor scratches to the surface, in particular around the base and to the man's lower back. There is some pitting to the bronze in areas. There is minor greening to the surface in areas, including to the inside of the proper right arm, to the fingers of the proper left arm and to the back of the head and the neck. There are minor chips to the edges of the marble base.
