BUST OF CLEOPATRA
signed and dated: C:Lapini / Firenze 1889
Overall the condition of the marble is good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is a slight sheen to the surface, probably the result of cleaning. There are several small naturally occurring inclusions, most of which have been filled, including to the nose on the proper right side, to the scarf at the proper right shoulder, and the shoulder and drapery on the proper left side. There are a few small chips, including to the fringe and more notably to the top edge of the socle at the back. There is minor light brownish staining in some areas and a few minor residues.
