ITALIAN, 19TH CENTURY
BUST OF VENUS AND CUPID
signed and dated: Prof. A. Cambi / Firenze. 1882
There is general wear to the marble consistent with age. There is minor natural veining to the marble consistent with the material. There are a few small naturally occurring inclusions. The surface of the marble is dry which indicates that it has been over-cleaned, and there is some surface dust which may be connected with that process. There is faint orange staining in particular to the woman’s torso. There are some minor dirt and other residues elsewhere. Otherwise the condition of the marble is good.
