Description

A BLUE AND WHITE 'KRAAK' PORCELAIN VASE | MING DYNASTY, WANLI PERIOD


The pear-shaped vase rising from a short tapering foot to a tall neck with everted rim, moulded around the exterior with six vertical panels alternately enclosing a galloping horse or flowers issuing from rockwork, all below a ruyi band at the neck.

Condition Report

The vase has a slight lean to one side; there are a few glaze flaws including a 1.2 cm., glaze pull on the ruyi band around the neck and some iron spots; and some tiny fritts on the mouth rim.
