This short, twenty-six minute silent film, with its memorable song 'Walking in the Air' sung by Aled Jones, was based on the famous book by Raymond Briggs. It tells the story of a young boy who builds a snowman one Christmas Eve. The snowman comes to life and takes the boy on a magical adventure to the North Pole where he meets Santa Claus. This story has become a Christmas classic.

These magical storyboard artworks are by Joanna Fryer, who created the film's storyboards. The artworks are graphite and coloured pencil on paper, with production annotations, and one is signed by Joanna Fryer. Images of these artworks unframed show the production annotations and signature.
