This is the fourth and final time that James Stewart would work with Alfred Hitchcock, in one of his best loved thrillers. The mood of the film was greatly enhanced by the score, which was written by Bernard Herrmann.
Saul Bass's classic spiral design was used for the American poster campaign. This blue image, featuring the identical artwork, was not used on any of the posters, and only on this trade advertisement to promote the film.
