[JOHN F. KENNEDY] — PIERRE SALINGER

WITH KENNEDY. NEW YORK: 1966

8vo. Blue calf gilt. A fine copy.

Inscribed "For Frank Sinatra who shared my love for JFK - and who has been a friend in good days and bad. Pierre Salinger."

Salinger as Press Secretary to JFK was a key member of the Cabinet. President Johnson retained Salinger as Press Secretary, remarking in the tumult following November, 1963 "I don't have to tell you that Mr. Salinger was John F. Kennedy's press secretary... and I don't know what I would have done without him, night and day, over this past month." A truly evocative association.
