Calligraphic manuscript quotation from a wartime speech, signed by Churchill ("Winston S. Churchill")


"We shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds .... until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and liberation of the Old", in black ink with blue capitals, initial capital on a gold background, with the date of the speech ("London, 4 June 1940") and name of the calligrapher ("B.R. Lockhart"), signed by Churchill in blue ink at the foot, one vellum membrane (316 x 253mm), adhesive residue on verso
