folio (367 x 227mm.), π2, π A4, A-Y6 Z4, [2]B-2Z6 *3A-*3D6 *3E8 3A-4B6 4C2, L1 set in smaller type as usual, contemporary calf with modern rebacking and cornering, spine gilt title, a few manuscript corrections to signatures, lacking three leaves (2R2, 3*D1, 3*D6),* spotting and browning throughout, small stain to Epitaph, F1, 3F2, 4B5 each with small holes, H6, 2N, 2T, 3Q5, 3Q6 each with some tears or loss to corners, strengthened with tape at inner joints, minor loss to spine label, rubbed 


SHAKESPEARE'S FOURTH FOLIO, and the largest of the first four folio editions. The seven extra plays added for this edition are now generally considered not to be by Shakespeare, with the exception of Pericles. The fourth folio may be regarded as the stateliest of all the four editions, being printed on a Royal Paper stock, distinctly larger than the sheets of the First, second or third folios.
