In 1930 a limited edition of Doyle's writings was planned for release and the writer signed a number of blank sheets intended for inclusion. At the publisher's request Doyle signed sufficient sheets to accommodate mistakes and even a future edition. A total of 147 sheets survived permitting this posthumous signed edition of 147 copies.
