3 volumes, folio, engraved title-pages, volume 1 with 2 folding plates, volume 2 with double-page plate, volume 3 with 1 folding plate, numerous illustrations throughout, contemporary calf gilt with gilt centrepiece, later gilt lettering pieces on spines, each with two clasps, offsetting, spotting and browning, damp-staining, some small tears to bottom margins, 3B6 in volume 2 with tear through lower third of leaf, folding plate in volume 1 with multiple tears at folds, spines starting, third volume re-backed retaining original spine, boards with scratches, rubbed with some loss (especially at clasps) 

First published in 1563 and more commonly known as Foxe's Book of Martyrs, the three volumes amount to 2,300 pages of over 3 million words and numerous engravings. This 1632 edition adds a chronology and a topical outline as well as a continuation of foreign martyrs.
