A collection of 26 Pamphlets in 24 volumes, comprising:


i. The Rider of the White Horse and his Army, their late food successe in Yorre-shiere. Or a …relation of that… Victory at Bradford. For T. Underhill, 1643. ANNOTATED BY JOHN RUSHWORTH, [Wing R1447]; ii. Lightfood, [John]. Elias Redivivus: a Sermon preached…at the Publike Fast, March 29, 1643. R. Cotes for A. Crooke, 1643. [Wing L2053]; iii. Audley, Mervin Lord. The Arraignment and Conviction. For T. Thomas, 1642[43]. Woodcut portrait frontispiece, [Wing A3743]; iv. Lancasters Massacre: or the New Way of advancing the Protestant Religion… namely to Cut the Throats of Protestant Men, Women and innocent Children, as lately the Papists...did at Lancaster. For T. Underhill, April 1, 1643. 4 leaves, with woodcut on verso of last leaf, [Wing H73B]; and 22 others; all small 8vo, various bindings, some fading and creasing throughout  


The contemporary politician and historian John Rushworth c. (1612–1690), was secretary to Sir Thomas Fairfax betweem 1645 and 1650. His Historical Collections of Private Passages of State, published in 8 volumes altogether between 1659 and 1721, covering the period 1618-1649, remains to this day a key source of information on events leading up to and during the English Civil Wars.
