Description

  • Small celadon glazed bowl from the Longquan kilns dating to the Ming Dynasty.

Provenance

Gifted to the Asian Arts & Culture Center, Towson University, in 2014.

A section approx. 6x4 cm from the rim extending to the body of the bowl has been restored.

Two kiln cracks approx. 5 cm running from the mouth rim to the foot.

Two small chips to the foot, and three burst glaze bubbles, an old paper label and museum accession number in black ink to the bottom.
