Description
One of the most recognizable luxury dress watches ever to be created, very few timepieces come close to the legendary status of the Rolex Datejust. Due to the watches very long production run, it was bound to have multiple variations. The present watch offered here today boasts a steel and gold Oyster case with a waterproof screw-down crown, fluted bezel, yellow gold indices and sweeping hands, and cyclops lens.
Condition Report
Case: The case is in overall good condition with surface wear throughout commensurate with age. Previous light polish. The crystal glazing with scratches throughout. The bracelet with visible signs of wear and stretch.
Dial: The dial is in overall very good condition. All luminous plots remain intact - some partial light losses from to the plots from 1-5 o'clock. The hands and plots have aged evenly throughout to a warmer color.
Movement: The movement is running at time of cataloging, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
