Introduced in 1957 alongside the Speedmaster and Railmaster, the Seamaster 300 was the dive watch of the tool watch trio. Charming characteristics such as the broad arrow minute hand and lollipop seconds hand make this a classic. So much so in fact, that a re-edition of the original model from 1957 was released in 2017 to great acclaim. This example features a JB champion flat link bracelet.
The watch is in good overall condition with some signs of wear to the case, commensurate with age and use.
The case has been lightly polished. The radium dot is missing on the bezel and the insert likely replaced.
The dial is in good, original condition with some signs of age to the radium lumes.
All hands have been relumed.
The bracelet is a later addition in good condition.
The rotor appears to have been replaced in the movement.
The movement is running at time of cataloguing; however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion.
Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
