Description
Class Sketches by Wayne Thiebaud.
Wayne Thiebaud (American, 1920-2021).
Sold as a set of 2.
This work is offered unframed.
Created between 1979 and 1983 at the University of California, Davis, when Wayne Thiebaud taught classes in Figurative Drawing and General Principles of Art, these sketches reflect the artist's teaching method. From Da Vinci to Dali, artist sketches are a way to decode the genius behind the masterwork. Drawing, Thiebaud wrote, is a way “to test what one can know about the look of such things as grace, sensuality, affectation, tension, repose, ineffableness, and those mysterious characteristics which remain between a question and an answer."
