  • Sold as a set of 3 volumes.

  • Waverley, or, 'Tis Sixty Years Since.
  • Edinburgh: James Ballantyne and Co., 1814.

  • Second Edition.
  • Bound in the original boards with half-titles, edges untrimmed, housed in a cloth clamshell over blue paper sides, in the style of the original binding.

A rare survival in the original grey-paper covered boards.

Published anonymously in 1814, this second edition followed shortly after and still did not reveal the author's name. It was Scott's first venture into prose fiction and is widely accepted as the first historical novel.
